Synopsis:SavingParadise2014
As children, they promised to love each other forever. But when the Story Book Little Princess, Mayiya Hatukin, an Eurasian beauty, is shipped to Hong Kong to boarding school, she fails to come back as promised because life and her father’s books using her picture on the cover had gotten in the way. So Portland Cooper, American born, and his little brother explored the jungles on their own, in search of a way into the lost Endai Caves below.

Now as an adult, with Global Warming threatening the existence of their little islands, having never found the way into the caves, but having lost his little brother to the jungle eddy in the process, Portland is running his own boat repair shop fixing boats for the locals, when Maliya finally shows up asking for his help to find her father, D.W.  Hatukin, because he failed to attend their Island’s ancient ritual ceremonies.

Portland at first pretends not to remember her. But in reality, after his missionary parents failed to return home, he remained on the island under the tutelage of D.W., the widely successful author of The Little Island Princess Books. In exchange for being able to buy his cove for his boat shop, Portland has become the secret ghost of the falls. And performs the ancient ritual dance with the indigence tattooed Orang Asli Warriors once a year for tourist. The dance is in memory of their lost ancestors.  According to the D.W.’s books, and local legends, D.W.’s ancestors created a powerful cave civilization after centuries of warfare amongst themselves. They banded together to worship a prehistoric Lake Naga (monster). Only to have it all suddenly destroyed by a massive earth quack and tsunami that struck the Island 4 thousand years earlier.  Only D.W.’s bloodline, the royal family’s, a wedding party’s devastated bride and groom, survived to pass down the tales and create the map back down into the great civilization that perished beneath the Island of Kuali Rhu in minutes. The earthquake left 90 little islands to replace the once vast single volcanic island.

Thousands of men and women, fans of the books, including Mayliya, Cooper and his kid brother have searched the jungles trying to find a way to prove the truth to the legends. And many never made it back out of the jungle.

But all those who have tried to find the caves before were mere amateurs compared to Dr. Yo and his cargo ship, the Dead Rising, full of a co-mingled bunch of cut throat treasure hunters.

Dr. Yo, like a modern day Heinrich Schliemann — who searched for the city of Troy because he became enchanted by the story, The Iliad as a child, is possessed by the truth he feels is in The Little Island Princess Books. He believes that Mayliya is a true Island Princess of this secret civilization.

Dr. Yohas staked his self-proclaimed professional reputation as the greatest paleoanthropologist to have every lived on being able to prove a family of Nagas, possibly a freshwater mutated Kronosaurus, a thirty-three-foot carnivore that swam the seas covering Australia a hundred million years ago, still thrives. He claims it is still being worshiped in the Endai Cave Lake, amongst the ruins under Kuali Rhu Island.  He knows this because he has found DNA from it in the underwater springs, indicating that someone is still feeding them sharks, and he believes it’s the missing D.W. Hatukin.

All he needs to do is find the map that shows how to get down there, or dig through the lava shelf, but digging would possibly sink the island of Kuali Rhu, and destroy everything.

And though it’s still just a myth to Portland Cooper, known as Captain Adventurous to friends from his youth tour boating days, he believes in the damage it would cause. So he fights alongside Mayliya in a death-defying adventure to save their paradise. And rekindles their love for each – to the very end of one last Little Island Princess Book.
